A Hollywood Ending Review

American starlet Paige Carson is off to London to try her hand at Shakespeare, and prove that she deserves more than bimbo roles and Hollywood hunks who can't see beyond their own reflections. But stage acting is not quite what she expected. Neither is her landlord, Ed Hawkshead, a highfalutin documentary-maker who seems far from the charming, floppy-haired Brit of her daydreams.

Having a spoiled Hollywood brat—even one this attractive—as a tenant is Ed's worst nightmare. He's certain he will have to rescue her from trouble and is surprised when the tables are turned and he is the one needing help. Opposites attract as Paige and Ed must revise their assumptions about each other and rise to new challenges professionally.

I truly enjoyed this book. The title is what first drew me to this book. I love romance stories so the title A Hollywood Ending seemed right up my alley.
As you can see above this book is about Paige Carson a spoiled Hollywood actress who is getting treated like dirt by the new up and coming star actor Jackson. Paige finally cracks when during a kissing scene for her movie Code Red Jackson burbs in her face on purpose to try and get her to quit the movie. Paige walks off the set in a storm of rage and says that she quits. But after a breakfast with her agent the next mourning realizes that she must continue the project or give up her career. So Paige chose the obvious choice. Her only option really if she wanted to continue working in her chosen profession. So she went back to finish the movie but she and Jackson shot their scenes separately. At the meeting with her agent he told her of some offers for movies, appearances, commercials, and a play in London that played less a week than what she probably made in a day. At the time of that meeting she rejected the play, along with the commercial, and told her agent to sign her up for a Spanish movie. But when Paige goes to the Oscars with an ex-boyfriend who is now a close friend she runs into one of her agent's newest clients who is gushing over just being told that she got the lead in the Spanish movie Paige was hoping to get the lead in, so that it would put her back on the map in Hollywood. Because of this Paige skips the after party and in the limo she learns that her ex-boyfriend and close friend, who she thought wanted to get back together with her, was recently engaged and that he wanted her schedule so that they could set a wedding date that she would be able to attend. Confused and angry about not getting the part in the movie and again misinterpreting a man's actions toward her again she tells her friend to take the limo home and says that she will go into the hotel they are in front of and take a taxi home. Paige immediately calls her agent and tells him to have her accept the part in the play in London. Paige then heads to London where she participates in a Shakespeare play and falls for her landlord who is definitely not the kind of man she pictured falling in love with. But it's Paige's landlord who is in for a surprise. He never imagined that he would fall in love with someone who he considered to be a spoiled, pampered, over privileged Hollywood celebrity brat with a tiny IQ. They are both in for the shock of their lives.

If you read the synopsis of this book before you read it part one of this story is fun and funny but can be a bit slow. But part two really picks up and you will be dying to know what happens to Ed and Paige. I know I was saying "Will they hurry up and get together already?" The romance, along with Paige's witty humor, and sometimes bratty attitude is what really keeps you flying through the pages of this romantic comedy.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read, definitely not one of the best books I've ever read but definitely a worth while read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy.

Just Delivered #1

A Hollywood Ending by Robyn Sisman- Can't wait to read this book. It sounds fantastic! And I loveee romantic comedies so this sounds right up my alley. As far as the covers are concerned the original UK cover is by far my favorite cover, but I alos lovee the US cover. I don't however particuarly like the new UK cover. I don't like the animation or the font or anything about it really. Why change the cover when the original cover was so fantastic???

Not Julia's family, not her boyfriend, or even her closest friends. A wonderful story of forbidden romance and strict class divisions. Along with an intriguing cover. I had heard about this book before but never made the stretch to finally get it.

Very LeFreak by Rachel Cohn- I picked up this book because it had a very interesting title. Very LeFreak I thought. What could that be about? I learned that this book was about a teenage girl obsessed with technology who gets sent away to rehab at ESCAPE, emergency Services for Computer-addicted Persons Everywhere. 28 days without any technolgy. What would this technology obsessed girl do? I can't wait to sink my teeth into this intriguing book about one teenage girl on her hilarious journey to try to set her life back on track.
